In der Realität jedoch geht das Coming-out oft einher mit Ängsten, Zweifeln, Unsicherheiten, Identitäskrisen und nicht zuletzt mit tatsächlich erlebter Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung.

Hier braucht es mehr Aufklärung, mehr finanzielle Unterstützung für soziale Einrichtungen, die sich auf diesen Themenbereich spezialisiert haben, mehr Empathie und Solidarität, mehr Respekt und Fairness bei der Ausgestaltung von Gesetzen und letztlich mehr Kommunikation — mit uns anstatt über uns.
